Crystal has been creating beautiful and functional leather goods since 2009. A lifelong learner with a passion for working with her hands, she finds joy in creating precious handmade objects that will withstand the test of time and become treasured heirlooms in their users' lives.
.
When she was a Cornell student, a trip to the Ithaca Farmers Market changed her life. There, Crystal stumbled upon leather craft and instantly became fascinated by the materiality of the work.
.
In winter 2009, she began an apprenticeship with Jacques Coco Reboh, (a beloved vendor at the Ithaca Farmers Market) and learned various aspects of working with leather: selecting appropriate hides for projects, layout, design, construction, finishing, and more.
.
After Coco's passing in 2011, Crystal began working in the leather studio of John (Gio) Marmora in Hector, NY. There, she learned how to create traditional handmade sandals.
.
Since 2013, Crystal has sold her leather goods at the Ithaca Farmers Market and online. Her work carries on the legacy of her two late teachers.
